The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a fraction or sub-fraction of an extract of the Nerium species or the Thevetia species, wherein the fraction thereof or sub-fraction thereof excludes cardiac glycosides and comprises at least a steroid, at least one triterpene and less than 1% by weight of a polysaccharide, wherein the extract is obtained by means of the extraction of the Nerium species or the Trevetia species by extraction in hot water, extraction in cold water, extraction in supercritical fluid, extraction in organic solvent or a combination thereof, followed by fractionation thereof, for use in the treatment of a neurological condition. |
