titleOfInvention MINI-EMULSIONS AND LATEX OF THE SAME.
abstract A hybrid acrylic alkylated latex and a process for its preparation are shown. The process comprises the formation of an oil phase comprising an alkyl, a dryer, and at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the oil phase solubilizes the dryer, combining the oil phase, wherein the aqueous phase comprises a surfactant, to form a pre-emulsion; homogenizing the pre-emulsion and therefore, forming a mini-emulsion, where the dryer is solubilized in the aqueous phase; initiating the polymerization by adding a free radical initiator, thus polymerizing at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the mini emulsion and forming a latex polymer emulsion having a size of latex polymer particles in a range of 40nm to 700nm.
