abstract |
The oxidation process may include: introducing small drops of liquid reaction mixture having an oxidizable reagent, a catalyst and a solvent in a reaction zone containing oxygen and diluent gas; and oxidizing the reagent with oxygen at a suitable reaction temperature and a suitable reaction pressure to produce an oxidized product. The liquid reaction mixture may have an aromatic raw material having an oxidizable substituent such as the oxidizable reagent. The oxidized product may include an aromatic component having at least one carboxylic acid. For example, the aromatic raw material may include a benzene ring having at least one oxidizable alkyl substituent, a furan hetero ring having at least one oxidizable alkyl substituent, a naphthalene poly ring having at least one alkyl alkyl substituent, derivatives thereof and mixtures thereof. |
