titleOfInvention | IMPROVED DIRECT LIQUID PHASE CATALYTIC PROCEDURE TO PREPARE NON-CYCLIC POLY AMINES POLY ALKYLENE |
abstract | The present invention relates to an improved direct liquid phase catalytic process for preparing non-cyclic polyalkylene polyamines, characterized in that a molar excess of an alkylene amine, having the general formula: (SEE GAZETTE) in which R is hydrogen or alkyl , X is a number from 2 to 6 and Y is a number from 1 to 4, it is reacted with a diol having the general formula: (SEE GAZETTE) in which R is hydrogen or alkali; X is a number from 2 to 6, and Y is a number from 0 to 3, in the presence of a phosphorous-containing catalyst, chosen from metal phosphates, acids, phosphoric acids, phosphoric acid anhydrides, phosphorous acids, acid anhydrides phosphorous, alkyl and aryl phosphate esters, alkyl and aryl phosphite esters, alkyl and substituted aryl phosphorous acids, and phosphoric acids, in which the alkyl groups have 1 to 8 carbon atoms and the aryl groups have 6 to 20 carbon atoms, monosalts of alkali metal phosphoric acid, and combinations thereof, at temperatures between 250 ° C to 350 ° C, under pressure sufficient to keep the mixture essentially in the liquid phase. |
