titleOfInvention BACTERIA THAT USE THE GENETICALLY MODIFIED LACTIC ACID TO SECRET DEGRADING ENZYMES OF THE POLYSACARIDS.
abstract Bacteria using lactic acid (LA), genetically modified to express and optionally secrete enzymes that degrade polysaccharides, such as cellulases, hemicellulases and amylases, and their uses are provided. Enzymes that degrade polysaccharides are advantageous for processing organic waste so that the organic waste can be used as a substrate in industrial fermentation processes, particularly in the industrial production of enantiomer (s) other than lactic acid. In addition, useful vectors and constructs are provided to genetically modify the bacteria that use LA.
