abstract The present invention relates to the use of an amine of the formula (I) as a hardener for epoxy resins, to hardeners for epoxy resins containing the amine of the formula (I) and to the epoxy-resulting resin compositions that more particularly can be used as epoxy resin coatings curing low emission at room temperature with high hardness and surface quality. The amine of the formula (I) has little odor and is a very successful diluent for epoxy resin compositions. It is more particularly obtained by the reductive alkylation of 1,2-propylenediamine and an aldehyde or ketone.
