abstract A synergistic microbicidal composition that has two components. The first component is a non-ionic surfactant with the structure: R1O (CH2CH (CH3) O) 5 (CH2CH2O) 9H, wherein R1 is a C8 alkyl group. The second component is phenoxyethanol. The weight ratio of the nonionic surfactant to 2-decylthioethylamine is 1: 1 to 1: 18.2766. Alternatively, the first component is a non-ionic surfactant with the structure R2O (CH2CH (CH3) O) 3 (CH2CH2O) XH, wherein R2 is a mixture C8-C14 linear alkyl groups and x is 5 or 7. The second component is phenoxyethanol . In this case, the weight ratio of the non-ionic surfactant to phenoxyethanol is 1: 0.1999 to 1: 36.5897.
