The present invention relates to a method for the extraction and isolation of soluble arabinoxylan products from cereal grains. Preferably, such a soluble arabinoxylan product is any one of soluble arabinoxylan, arabinoxylan-oligosac aggregates, xylose, arabinose, ferulic acid and mixtures thereof. Such a method comprises partial degermination of the whole cereal grains to obtain partially degerminated cereal grains followed by milling rollers of such partially degerminated cereal grains to obtain the cereal bran. The method further comprises the maceration of at least part of such cereal bran in water that optionally involves treating the pasta with any one of an enzymatic preparation, an acid, a base, a peroxide or combinations thereof, either simultaneously or sequentially, to solubilize and optionally depolymerize a fraction of the arabinoxylan comprised in such cereal bran. Preferably, such treatment is done with an enzymatic preparation containing an endoxylanase. The method further comprises separating such a paste from a solubilized fraction, which comprises at least part of the soluble solubilized arabinoxylan products. |
