titleOfInvention A METHOD FOR THE SELECTION OF AGENTS THAT AFFECT THE INTESTINAL MOTILITY DISORDERS AND PAIN.
abstract A method is provided to evaluate the agents for the treatment of different intestinal motility disorders, using different methodological parts related to the muscles and nerves of the GI tract that communicate with the brain. Particularly, the present invention provides a method for the selection of an effective agent for the treatment of an intestinal motility disorder, wherein the method comprises: a) a space-time mapping (ST) stage performed in a segment gastrointestinal to analyze the effect of said agent on gastrointestinal motility; and b) an ex vivo nerve beam recording stage performed in a gastrointestinal segment to analyze the effect of said agent on the discharge of the mesenteric afferent nerve. Bacterial strains selected by the methods of the invention and the use of bacterial strains in the treatment of intestinal motility disorders are also provided.
