The present invention relates to high efficiency processes for the production of olefins, alkynes and the co-production of hydrogen from light hydrocarbons. In one embodiment of the present invention, the method includes the steps of carrying out the combustion of hydrogen and oxygen in a combustion zone of a pyrolytic reactor to create a combustion gas stream, transition and / or pass the velocity of subsonic to supersonic combustion gas stream in an expansion zone of the pyrolytic reactor, injecting a light hydrocarbon into the supersonic combustion gas stream to create a mixing stream that includes the light hydrocarbon, transitioning and / or passing the speed of the supersonic to subsonic mixing stream in a reaction zone of the pyrolytic reactor to produce acetylene, and catalytically hydrogenate the acetylene in a hydrogenation zone to produce ethylene. In certain embodiments, carbon efficiency is improved by means of methanization techniques. |
