Methods for processing lgnocellulosic biomass to obtain fermentable sugars and methods based on hydrothermal pretreatment. In particular, a method for the processing of lignocellulosic biomass comprising: providing soft lignocellulosic biomass raw material, pretreating the raw material in a pressurized hydrothermal pretreatment in a single stage with a very low intensity, separating the pretreated biomass into a solid fraction and a liquid fraction, hydrolyze the solid fraction using enzymatic hydrolysis catalyzed by a mixture of enzymes, and then mix the separated liquid fraction and the hydrolyzed solid fraction, thereby degrading the xyl-oligomers present in the liquid fraction to xylose monomers . |
