titleOfInvention | CLEANING COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING AMINA SURFACTANTS WITH SWITCHING PH. |
abstract | A cleaning composition that may comprise a switchable pH foaming system and a cleaning system. The switchable pH foaming system may comprise a primary foaming agent in combination with a switchable pH cosurfactant. The switchable pH cosurfactant is selected from diamine molecules having a general formula R1R2-N-R3-N + (CH3) X, where R1 is a linear or modified C8 to C16 hydrocarbyl, R2 is a C1 to C3 hydrocarbyl linear or modified, R3 is a linear or branched C3 to C6 hydrocarbylene, and X is a counter-anion. The tertiary amine nitrogen of the switchable pH cosurfactant has a pKa value • When the tertiary amine nitrogen is deprotonated, the switchable pH cosurfactant can provide a foam intensifying effect in wash solutions at a wash pH greater than the value PKa When the tertiary amine nitrogen is protonated, the switchable pH cosurfactant can provide a foam reducing benefit in the rinse water at a rinse pH less than the pKa • value. |
