titleOfInvention | USE OF AUXIN-SYNTHEASE TO IMPROVE CULTURE PERFORMANCE. |
abstract | Compositions and methods are provided to increase plant yield. The methods comprise increasing the expression of an auxin synthase coding gene or sequence in the bud and inflorescence meristem of a plant, the compositions of the invention comprise DNA constructs comprising an auxin synthase coding sequence operably linked to a promoter. that preferentially activates the expression in the meristem of bud and inflorescence of a plant. Also included are plants, vegetable cells, plant tissues and seeds that have been transformed with the construction of DNA. The invention recognizes that the improvement of auxin expression in the bud meristem and inflorescence of a plant results in an improvement in plant yield and growth, resulting in an increase in crop yield in a field planted with these plants. . |
