titleOfInvention PRECIPITATED SILICE SURPRISES.
abstract The present invention is directed to a separation means comprising precipitated silica dried by rotation or spray dried. The silica having a pore surface area P where log10 P> 2.2 and the ratio of BET to CTAB is at least 1.0 measured before any modification of the silica surface. The present invention is further directed to a method for separating suspended and dissolved materials from a fluid stream, which comprises contacting the stream with the separation medium described above.
