titleOfInvention | METHOD OF OBTAINING EXTRACTS FROM JACQUINIA MACROCARPA WITH ANTIFUNGIC ACTIVITY. |
abstract | The present invention consists of a method of obtaining extracts from the Jacquinia macrocarpa plant with antifungal activity, which consist of a butanolic fraction of the plant and an active fraction with a higher degree of purity, which have been shown to have the ability to hydrolyze to chitin and inhibit the β-1,3-glucanase enzyme of the fungi Aspergillus flavus and Fusarium verticillioides, where said enzyme is part of a chain of metabolic reactions and that once inhibited has a fatal effect on fungal organisms. Corn is a plant greatly affected by these hogs, causing large economic and production losses both in cultivation and storage, arousing great concern because this cereal and the products obtained from it, constitute the basis of the Food of many countries. To prevent and counteract the effects caused by fungi, the use of fungicides is used; However, the increase in resistance has produced a constant need in the identification of new fungicides that act against them. An alternative is the compounds of natural origin as are the products obtained through the method proposed in this invention. |
