abstract The present invention provides a KK179-2 alfalfa transgenic event; The invention also provides cells, parts of plants, seeds, plants, commodities related to the event, and DNA molecules that are unique to the event and that were created by inserting transgenic DNA into the genome of an alfalfa plant; furthermore, the invention provides methods for detecting the presence of nucleotide sequences of said alfalfa event in a sample, probes and primers for use in the detection of nucleotide sequences that are diagnostic for the presence of said alfalfa event.
