abstract A trap for the massive capture and control of the insect called "cotton weevil", which comprises a tubular central body (1) that has a lower section with perforations (11), an enclosure formed by a perforated lid (7) and a base or back cover (3) equipped with perforations (3b) and which also has one or more openings (12) for insects to enter the enclosure from the lower section (1); b) a section of insecticide dispenser (4) inside the enclosure, c) a section of ventilation perforations and effluent outlet (5) located in a position further away from the base or back cover than the insecticide dispenser (4) ; d) a perforated vessel (8) for housing inside an attractant product diffuser (14) outside the enclosure and above it, and e) a closure (9) of the perforated vessel (8) at its upper end.
