titleOfInvention | RECYCLABLE THERMOPLASTIC INSULATION WITH IMPROVED RUPTURE RESISTANCE. |
abstract | The description provides a process for producing a material with improved breaking strength. The process includes heating a polymer composition composed of a low density polyethylene (LDPE) and a minor amount of a high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polymer composition is heated to at least the melting temperature of HDPE. The process includes controlled cooling of the heated polymer composition at a cooling rate of 0.1 ° C / mm to 20 ° C / mm, and the formation of a polymer composition. The polymeric composition subjected to controlled cooling has a unique morphology that improves the breaking strength. A conductor coated with an insulating layer composed of the polymer composition with the unique morphology is also provided. The insulation layer exhibits improved resistance to breakage. |
