The present invention relates to novel heterocyclic derivatives as glutaminyl cyclase inhibitors (QC, EC 2.3.2.5). OC catalyzes intramolecular cycling of N-terminal glutamine residues in pyroglutamic acid (5-oxo-plolyl, pGlu *) under ammonia release, and intramolecular cycling of N-terminal glutamate residues in pyroglutamic acid under water release. |
