titleOfInvention BIODEGRADABLE FRAGUATE RETARDER BASED ON EPOXIACIDES FOR CEMENT COMPOSITION.
abstract The compositions and methods according to the invention are directed to a cement composition for use in an underground formation. The cement composition comprises: (A) cement; (B) water; and (C) a polymer, wherein the polymer: (i) comprises a monomer or monomers selected from the group consisting of epoxysuccinic acid, a substituted epoxysuccinic acid, and an alkali metal salt, earth alkali metal salt, or salt of ammonium of any of the foregoing, and any combination of any of the foregoing; (ii) has the following characteristics: (a) it is soluble water; and (b) it is biodegradable; and (iii) is capable of providing: (a) a thickening time of at least 2 hours for a test composition at a temperature of 87.7 ° C (190 ° F) and a pressure of 362.7 kg / cm2 (5,160 psi) ; and (b) an initial setting time of less than 24 hours for the test composition at a temperature of 102.7 ° C (217 ° F) and a pressure of 210.9 kg / cm2 (3,000 psi), where the test composition It consists of 860 grams of Portland Class H cement, 325 grams of deionized water, and 0.4% by weight of the polymer cement. The method comprises the steps of: (A) introducing the cement composition into the underground formation; and (B) allow the cement composition to set after the introduction into the underground formation.
