titleOfInvention BORATE AND POLYMER COMPOSITIONS FOR THE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF RAILWAYS.
abstract A compensatory treatment of compensatory rail sleepers capable of prolonging the life of a railway sleeper is described. The compensatory rail sleeper repair treatment comprises a mixture of a borate solution and a combined chemical sleeper plugging compound that, when applied to the area of wood of interest, will delay its deterioration and facilitate the penetration of the borate through of wood fibers. The compensatory rail sleeper repair treatment may alternatively comprise sequential application of the borate solution and the capping compound to the area of wood of interest.
