The present invention relates to methods and compositions for monitoring, diagnosing, forecasting, and determining treatment regimens in subjects suffering from or suspected of having a kidney injury. Particularly, the invention relates to using one or more assays configured to detect a marker of kidney injury selected from the group consisting of interleukin-5, beta subunit of the Interleukin-6 receptor, tissue factor, globulin that binds sex hormone , Alpha-2-macroglobulin, Apolipoprotein AI, Calcitonin, Thrombopoietin, C-reactive protein, intercellular adhesion molecule 3, macrophage metalloelastase, Apolipoprotein B-100, and fibrinogen as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in renal lesions. |
