titleOfInvention LASER MARKING MICROPOROUS MATERIAL
abstract A microporous material is provided that includes a polyolefin matrix material; a finely divided filler product substantially insoluble in water distributed throughout the matrix material, wherein the filler product includes a positive amount of titanium dioxide; a network of interconnected pores that communicate through all microporous material; and optionally, a contrast enhancing amount of a material that improves contrast. The sum of the percentage weight of titanium dioxide and the percentage weight of the optional material that enhances the contrast is at least 3 percent by weight based on the total weight of the microporous material. Multilayer articles are also provided that have a layer of microporous material.
