titleOfInvention DERMIC PREPARATION THAT IMMOBILIZES BACTERIA.
abstract Usually dermal sealants are applied over dermal preparation solutions to seal the skin and keep any remaining bacteria in place before surgical incisions. This sealer is usually left on the skin after surgery. This two-stage process is delayed, since each layer must dry before the next one is applied. A dermal preparation is provided that immobilizes at least 95 percent of the bacteria in the skin and is essentially free of cyanoacrylate. The dermal preparation has a fugitive solvent and may also have antimicrobial compounds such as iodophors, biguanides, phenols, quaternary amines, antibiotics and metals. This dermal preparation can be used without a dermal sealant or additional surgical field applied on it before surgery.
