The present invention relates to viscoelastic fluids based on surfactants to improve the productivity of hydrocarbon formations that have particular applicability in the acidic fracturing of underground formations surrounding oil and gas wells. The viscoelastic fluid contains an organic acid, an inorganic monovalent salt and an aromatic salt of quaternary ammonium and water. The fluid can also be foamed or energized. |
