abstract |
Methods for identifying patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at an early stage that will have an unfavorable prognosis for lung cancer recurrence after surgical resection are described. Methods based in part on the discovery of the increase in the number of chromosomal copies in Chrl9, 34.7 Mb-35.6 Mb, can be used for prognostic classification. The methods preferably use in situ hybridization with fluorescently labeled nucleic acid probes to hybridize patient samples to quantify the number of chromosomal copies of this genetic site. |
