New compositions are shown that exhibit highly antiviral, antimicrobial and / or antifungal activity. The compositions of the invention can be used to sterilize and / or disinfect surfaces, eg, animated or inanimate surfaces. Preferred compositions of the invention include a synergistic combination of an alcohol, docusate, geraniol and optionally menthol. The invention provides compositions that have a high antimicrobial activity, and yet are mild, non-irritating, quick drying, are not sticky and do not dry the skin. The processes for the manufacture and use of the compositions and products containing said compositions are also described. |
