The present invention describes methods and processes for the production of proteins, in particular glycoproteins, by culturing animal or mammalian cells, preferably, but not limited to, semi-continuous cell cultures. In one aspect, the methods comprise the addition of glucocorticoid compound during the culture period. The addition of glucocorticoid compound maintains a high viability of cell cultures and can provide an increase in the final titration of protein product and a high quality of protein product, as determined, for example, by means of the content of sialic acid in the protein produced |
