abstract The present invention relates to a continuous process for manufacturing a solid particulate laundry detergent composition comprising the following steps: (a) forming a soft surfactant particle having a pressure resistance of about 30 N to about 200 N; and (b) contacting the soft surfactant particle with a heterogeneous fluid-free particulate mixture comprising populations of chemically distinct and multiple detergent particles, wherein the heterogeneous fluid-free particulate mixture has a pressure resistance of about 0 N to about 20 N, wherein the fluid-free heterogeneous particulate mixture has a weighted average particle size of about 50 micrometers to 2000 micrometers, and where the ratio of (i) the pressure resistance of the soft surfactant particle in N at (ii) time between stage (a) and stage (b) in minutes is in the range of 6 Nmin-1 to 2000 Nmin-1.
