titleOfInvention | FOOD AXLE TO FEED PARTICULATED MATERIAL TO A MILL. |
abstract | A description of an inclined feed shaft (1) for feeding particulate material to a mill (2) is given. The feed shaft (1) is peculiar in that it is configured for rotation around its longitudinal axis. It is hereby obtained that any incipient formation of layers in the shaft wall will be continuously removed and detached from the wall by the largest decreasing material particles in the feed material such that the feed shaft will be of the type of Self-cleaning. This is due to the fact that during the rotation of the shaft (1) the entire circumference of the shaft (1) will be intermittently located at the bottom of the transverse profile of the shaft (1), and therefore will be cleaned by the descending material. As a result, the layers that are continuously formed during the rotation of the shaft in these parts of the shaft wall not located at the bottom will be removed continuously when these parts pass through the bottom of the cross-sectional profile of the shaft (1). |
