The present invention has application in the fields of Medicine, Neurology, Stomatology, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery and Gerontology, which uses electronic nanotechnology and biomechanical technologies. This invention comprises a bionic device for transduction of mastication pressure in an electrical stimulus capable of being perceived by the organism in the form of a nociceptive stimulus, which activates in the organism an appropriate motor response of defense or decrease in muscle contraction. A nociceptive stimulus generating device capable of stimulating the chewing-related brain areas is provided, modulating the muscular response thus avoiding overload problems during the chewing process or while sleeping, involuntary chewing movements called parafunctions, which result in abrupt wear of dental crowns, also called bruxism. A preferred embodiment includes a controller (1), interconnection with nerve structures (2), prosthetic abutment (3, 4), processing device and force transducer (5). |
