Oil emulsions in modified-release water that deliver drugs to a target tissue. Emulsions according to the present invention contain a lipophilic active ingredient completely dissolved within the hydrophobic internal phase stabilized with a polymeric surfactant. The presence of this polymer around the hydrophobic drops prevents the active ingredient from migrating into the external hydrophilic phase and, consequently, re-crystallization. |
