abstract The present invention relates to the preparation of insulin compounds, including their analogues or derivatives thereof from their corresponding precursor forms by a one-stage enzymatic reaction that includes the combinatorial and concurrent use of optimal amounts of trypsin and carboxypeptidase B They work synergistically by directing the reaction in a controlled manner to avoid the production of random unwanted by-products. Particularly, the enzymatic conversion reactions of the present invention offer reduction advantages in the number of operational stages, and higher yield and purity of the desired end products.
