abstract The present invention relates to a method for the production and preparation of polyglycolate (PGA) from genetically engineered organisms; more specifically, the invention relates to a method comprising these two steps: 1) cultivate in a medium containing glycolic acid or not the microorganism that expresses at least one gene encoding an enzyme that converts glycollate into glycolic CoA and a gene encoding the polyhydroxyalkanoate synthetase (PHA) that uses glycolic CoA as a substrate, 2) recover the polyglycolate polymer.
