PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCTION, SELECTIVE CATALYTICS OF NOX THAT PROVIDES AN IMPROVEMENT IN THE UREA GASIFICATION TO FORM A GAS CONTAINING AMMONIA. |
abstract |
Methods and apparatus that allow efficient use of urea are disclosed for purposes such as selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOX, which allows urea to be fed to a chamber designed to efficiently and completely gasify urea to allow feeding of ammonia. Preferably, the aqueous urea is fed into a gasification chamber, which is also fed with hot gases. An injection medium, capable of distributing the aqueous urea as fine drops, is placed in the center of a gas distribution plate in the chamber. An arrangement of spaced holes in the gas distribution plate provides higher gas velocities in the vicinity of the injection means than near the chamber walls. Uniform gas distribution is achieved without fouling of the equipment. |
