titleOfInvention ABSORBENT PRODUCT THAT INCLUDES A MODIFIED CATIONIC ALMIDON.
abstract Absorbent products for female protection, for example sanitary napkins, pantiprotectors or buffers, comprising a modified cationic starch. The starch is modified by a cationizing agent comprising an ammonium group, wherein the degree of substitution of the cationizing agent is from about 0.070 to less than 0.50. In one aspect of the invention, the modified cationic starch is practically insoluble. In another aspect of the invention, the modified cationic starch is crosslinked by a crosslinking agent, wherein the crosslinking agent is reacted with the starch in a concentration of about 100 ppm to about 4000 ppm by weight of starch.
