The insulin analog can be a single chain insulin analog or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, which contains an insulin A chain sequence or an analog thereof and an insulin B chain sequence or an analog thereof. connected by a 4-13 amino acid polypeptide. A single chain insulin analog may exhibit greater in vitro insulin receptor binding to IR-A but less IR-B binding than normal insulin while exhibiting less than or equal IGFR binding than normal insulin.
