An M-S monomer has a first polymerizable portion (M) capable of forming a conjugated polymer, and a second polymerizable portion (S) with a double bond susceptible to addition polymerization. Polymerization of the portions M is caused, in general, by electropolymerization or chemical oxidation. Polymerization of the S portions is also caused, in general by a radical mechanism, before, after or simultaneously with the polymerization of M. Suitable monomers include N- (methacrylamidoethyl) -aniline, N- (acrylamidoethyl) -aniline, N (methacryloxyethyl) -aniline and N- (acryloyloxyethyl) -aniline. |
