Methods to strengthen the biomechanical properties of the cornea by exposing the cornea to ultraviolet light in the presence of a photo-initiator are described. These methods can be used to treat keratoconus. They can also be used to treat ectasia after a surgical procedure, or to strengthen the cornea before the surgical procedure. |
