| abstract | The invention generally provides grouts containing plaster that includes stucco, a hydroxyethylated starch, naphthalenesulfonate dispersant and sodium trimetaphosphate. The naphthalene sulfonate dispersant is? present in an amount of approximately 0.1% - 3.0% by weight depending on the weight of the dry stucco. The hydroxyethylated starch is present in an amount of about 0.5% by weight to about 10% by weight depending on the weight of the dry stucco in the formulation. Is sodium trimetaphosphate? present in an amount of approximately 0.1% - 0.4% by weight depending on the weight of the dry stucco. Other plaster grout additives may include accelerators, binders, paper fiber, fiberglass and other known components. The invention also includes the products containing gypsum prepared with the grouts, for example, light weight drywall, and a method for preparing light weight drywall. |
