abstract A method for producing a suspension of aripiprazole is disclosed, where aripiprazole has an average particle size of 1 to 10 the method comprises the steps of: (a) combining a bulk aripiprazole and a vehicle to form a primary suspension; (b) subject the primary suspension to a first spray using, for example, a high shear spraying machine, a dispersion machine that applies the cutting force to a material that will be? processed, a colloid mill, an ultrasonic dispersion machine or a high pressure jet emulsifying dispersion machine to form a secondary suspension; and (c) subjecting the secondary suspension to the second spray using, for example, a high pressure jet type emulsifying dispersion machine to form a sterile final suspension; and a method to produce a lyophilized formulation from the suspension of aripiprazole.
