abstract | Pesticide compositions and articles that provide topical application of a mixture of (1) a macrolide of the mectino / milbemicin class, such as, but not limited to ivermectin, abamectin or milbectin, and (2) a synergy of the ether class allopathic aryl, such as, but not limited to piperonyl buftoxide, present in (3) a radius of synergy: macrolide weight that is greater than 1: 1. The composition and articles demonstrate efficacy, even in applications outside the point of contact, against several pests of domestic animals such as, but not limited to ectoparasite arthropods including bed bugs and flies. Methods are provided in which compositions may be used as sprays, spills, powders for direct topical application to domestic animals; or in which articles comprising resin-based polymers, such as ear tags, in which the active ingredient of the composition can be released, is glued to the animal to provide long-term administration. |
