An example method is presented to retard the setting of the surface of a mortar or concrete material, which comprises applying on the surface of a mortar or concrete, or on the internal surface of a mold to form the mortar or concrete, a composition of heat-applied melt coating that is heated to assume a fluid or sprayable form, and allow the heat-applied melt coating composition to cool to room temperature whereby the composition forms a solidified membrane, and subsequently removed the membrane Preferably, the heat-applied melt coating composition contains at least one agent that operates to retard the setting of the mortar or concrete, and optional finely divided particulate materials, light reflecting pigments, or mixtures thereof. |
