titleOfInvention | POLYMORPHYSMS IN THE GENE OF THE MITOCONDRIC TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR (TFAM) AND ITS ASSOCIATIONS WITH CHANNEL ATTRIBUTES. |
abstract | The physiological regulation of energy intake, growth and partitioning in animals is under the control of multiple genes, which can be important candidates for deciphering genetic variation in economically relevant attributes in beef production. The present invention relates to the identification of individual nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the bovine gene encoding mitochondrial transcription factor A ("TFAM") and its associations with economically relevant attributes in beef production. The invention also encompasses methods and systems, including network-based processes, for handling SNP data and other data related to specific animals and herds of animals, veterinary care, diagnostic and quality control data and livestock management that, based on genotype determination, they have predictable meat quality attributes, breeding conditions, animal welfare, food safety information, verification of existing processes and field location data. |
