abstract The present invention relates to new linear peptides that exhibit antimicrobial activity. Said peptides are formed by 11 amino acids, and have the amino group of the amino acid that constitutes the N-terminal end without derivatizing or functionalized with the acetyl, p-toluenesulfonyl, benzyl or benzoyl group. The amino acid that constitutes the C-terminal end of said peptides is in the form of carboxamide. The invention describes the synthesis and use of said peptides as antimicrobial agents against pathogenic bacteria for plants. It also refers to compositions comprising said peptides and an auxiliary agent, and a method for preventing and treating infections and diseases of plants caused by pathogenic bacteria.
