SEED AND COMPOSITIONS OF SOY OIL AND METHODS TO MAKE THE SAME. |
abstract |
Methods for obtaining soy plants that produce seeds with low levels of linolenic acid and moderately high oleic levels are revealed; Methods for producing seeds with low levels of linolenic acid, moderately high oleic levels and low levels of saturated fatty acid are also revealed; these methods involve the combination of transgenes that provide moderate levels of oleic acid with soy germplasm that contain mutations in soy genes that confer low linolenic acid phenotypes; these methods also involve the combination of transgenes that provide both moderate levels of oleic acid and low saturated fat levels with soy germplasm that contain mutations in soy genes that confer low linolenic acid phenotypes; Soy plants and seeds produced by these methods are also described. |
