titleOfInvention LASER SYSTEM WITH GAS PURGE AND ITS METHOD.
abstract A gas purged laser system and the method for purging gas from a laser system are described. One modality of the laser system consists of a refractive surgical laser system, excimer that has an optical laser beam path configured to allow the purge of a portion of a volume that encloses the optical path of the laser beam with a gas, and a gas generator which can operate to generate the purge gas and provide the gas to the volumetric portion. The volume portion may be the entire volume that encloses the optical path of the laser beam or a selected part thereof. The gas can be nitrogen gas and the gas generator can be a self-contained nitrogen generator, as those with technical skills will know. The modalities can also comprise a regulator to regulate the flow of the purge gas in response to the signals received representative of the various parameters, such as temperature, oxygen level, pressure, humidity and flow rate.
