abstract |
The present invention can provide a distinctive method and process for making polymer fibers and nonwoven fabrics. The method may include providing a fiber material which exhibits a low crystallization rate. In a particular aspect, the fiber material can be subjected to a quench-cooled to a quench-cooled temperature that approximates a main temperature at which the polymer material crystallizes more rapidly. In another aspect, the fiber material can be subjected to a fiber pull at a selected fiber pull temperature, and in a further aspect, the fiber pull temperature can be set to approximate the main temperature of the polymer material. . In still other aspects, the fiber material can be subjected to a relatively small amount of fiber pull, and fiber pull can be provided at a relatively low fiber pull rate. |
