abstract | The present invention relates to a method for combating animal pests that comprises contacting animal pests, their habitat, breeding area, food supply, plant, seed, soil, area, material or environment where animal pests grow or can grow, or the materials, plants, seeds, soils, surfaces or spaces to be protected from animal attacks or infestations, with an effective amount for pesticide use of at least one compound I with structure of 1- (1,2-diphenyl-ethyl) - 3- (2-hydroxyethyl) -thiourea of the formula (see formula I) or a salt acceptable for use in agriculture thereof, where m is 0 to 5, n is 0 to 5, R3 and R4 are H or alkyl, haloalkyl , optionally substituted cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl, R7, R8, R9 and R10 are H or C1-C6 alkyl, halo-C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 alkylamino, C1-C6 alkoxy, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, phenyl or optionally substituted benzyl and the variables R1, R2, R5 and R6 are defined in the claims. The present invention also relates to a method for protecting crops from attack or infestation of animal pests, a method for protecting non-living materials from attack or infestation of animal pests, compounds with structure of 1- (1,2-diphenyl-ethyl) ) -3- (2-hydroxyethyl) -thiourea novel of formula I and its salts acceptable for use in agriculture as well as a composition for use in agriculture comprising a compound with structure of 1- (1,2-diphenyl-ethyl) -3- (2-hydroxyethyl) -thiourea of formula I or a salt thereof. |
