titleOfInvention | NON-SURGICAL METHOD TO PREVENT OR REDUCE THE PROGRESS INDEX OF NON-PROLIFERATIVE DIABETIC RETINOPATHY AND TREATMENT OF OTHER EYE CONDITIONS. |
abstract | A non-surgical method to prevent or reduce the rate of progression of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy to the proliferative form of diabetic retinopathy which comprises administering to a patient suffering from a non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy an effective amount of serine proteinase enzyme sufficient for produce without surgery, a subsequent vitreous detachment to prevent or reduce the rate of progression of proliferative diabetic retinopathy in the patient. It also describes a non-surgical method to treat eye conditions such as retinal ischemia, retinal inflammation, retinal edema, tractional retinal detachment, macular orifice, tractional retinopathy, vitreous hemorrhage or fractional maculopathy by vitreous administration to a patient suffering from one or more More than these eye conditions an effective amount of serine proteinase enzyme to reduce or treat this particular eye condition. Plasmin, microplasmin and miniplasmin are preferred, serine proteinase enzymes and plasmin is the most preferred. |
